Irish whiskey and Scotch whisky differ primarily in their geographical origin, ingredients, and production methods. Irish whiskey is produced in Ireland and typically distilled three times from a mix of malted and unmalted barley, giving it a smoother finish. It is usually aged for a minimum of three years in wooden casks. Scotch whisky, made in Scotland, is generally distilled twice and primarily uses malted barley.
